Greetings friends!
Long time no post. Thanks to all of you who continue to come out and see us and have done so for the past few years, we really appreciate the support. If it's been a while since you last saw us, we've just updated a few shows this November and December on our "shows" page so check it out and we'd love to see you there. Half Act Hits the Home Recording Studio:
That's right. With one song completed we are on our way to bringing you some fresh new music with a late November release date. A few of the songs you may have heard us play at shows and a couple you might not have ever heard. We've been testing out different new sounds trying to find something that works for us. In the mean time you can check out when we are playing next on our SHOWS page or our MySpace.

Hey everyone! We have had a pretty busy summer so far with a good mix of full band and acoustic shows thus far. A couple of weeks ago we went up to Tagalong Golf Resort and will be back up there again this weekend. If you haven?t ever been there...you should. The place is gorgeous and we play right down by the lake overlooking the sunset and all the boats out in the water. Thanks for everyone who we meet at Champps in Eden Prairie last night! Probably one of the best acoustic shows we have played in a while and we look forward to going back out there. Hope to see everyone out again sometime this summer!

Well we are playing a show this friday at Blarney Pub and Grill in Dinkytown by the University of Minnesota. Stop by for a beer. We have also begun the lengthy process of recording...One song almost done and lots more to come. Look for a preview of the new songs on our myspace in the next few weeks. What's up,
Quick thanks to all the people that came to see our show last weekend at
Blarney's Pub. It is always great to have familiar faces at our shows,
especially those we haven't seen in a while. Well...the weather is getting
nicer outside which means Mike and Joe are going to be wearing skimpy
clothes at the shows again. Don't drool now...make sure you drool at the
show. We have a great line up of shows coming up including a "new" venue
called Blarney's Pub in Dinkytown. We will also be appearing at Tiffany's
sports lounge and the Blackdawg in the up coming weeks so be sure to check
us out. We have taken all new pictures so you must check them out. A very
big thanks to our faithful supporters who brave the masses of screaming
women to get to our shows. Keep your eyes open for a Half Act appreciation
party coming soon which is guaranteed not to disappoint.

Thanks to all who braved the snow storm last weekend at Blarney Pub and stuck around all night. This weekend make sure to come and check us out at one of the two shows we have (or both)! On Friday night we will be at Blarney's Pub & Grille in Dinkytown on the U of M campus. We are Blarney's house band and it is always a great time out there. Make sure to come up and meet the new guy rockin out on the bass, Peder....he is very niceeeee!
This just in...we have a last minute show this Saturday night, November 18th at the Blackdawg Bar & Grille in Burnsville MN! We are playing with a really great local band Dazy Head Mazy. It should be a great night with the music starting at 9:30. If you are local and know us pretty well ask us what is going on after the show on Saturday night! :)

I forgot to put my laundry in the dryer. Don't you hate that? I'm sitting here waiting for it to be done so I can go to sleep and I figured that a new blog was in order. I live in Justin's basement with all of the band equipment for another 8 days...whohoo!... as much as I love music it will be nice to get out of there. I have some stories I could tell you guys but Justin would kill me if I told you...so you'll have to ask me in private if you wan't juicy details. Chip's red rocket made an appearance tonight after an encounter with "The Lion" and it was pretty funny and disturbing all at the same time. In other band news Joe and I have started to play the bass...and enjoying the alterego's we become as bassists. So.............anyway..... We've been playin new venues and havin a good time as always so keep on checkin us out....*wink

Well after another busy July we are starting to look forward to
the month of August were we are starting to line up some new shows.
This past month we have been really focusing on doing some pre-production
for recording in the fall that we are planning.
Thanks to everyone that came out to Tagalong last
week that we got to meet. Playing an acoustic show right on the lake
is PRICELESS. Looks like we will be back up there on Labor Day weekend
to play again!! More details to come, just keep checking the website.
Make sure to come out to Nomads, Jersey's and the
Fine Line in August. We have some sweet shows lined up and will be
playing with some really good bands.
Lastly, we are trying to think of some good 80's ish
covers/sing-a-longs to learn so if anyone has any good ideas, throw
them our way! We want you feedback!!! Otherwise, keep checking back
and we will see you at a show (or 4?!) in August!

Hey friends! Alright its going to be a great week! We are all looking
forward to the finals of the American Band Competition being held
at O'Gara's Garage in St. Paul.
A couple weeks ago we won the first round and are going to be playing
on Saturday, April 8th, at 10:30 pm in the final round. This means
we need everyone out there to help sing, yell, scream and vote for
HALF ACT! We have a great set lined up and look forward to seeing
everyone out there.
If you are in Collegeville up at St. Johns University on Friday night
(4/7/06) we will be playing at Brother Willies Pub with the Matt Johnson
Band, Down and Above and Bulls on Parade.
We hope to see everyone sometime this weekend. Saturday should be
a great night of partying going late into the night after the show!

Just a quick update...last night was our show at O'Gara's in St. Paul
for the American Band Competition. Each Thursday during the month
of March there is 3 bands that compete to get the highest number of
votes to move on to the finals.
We are proud to announce that HALF ACT will be at the FINALS on April
8th!
Thank you to everyone who came out to O'Gara's to support us and vote.
We are extremely happy with this and look forward playing again infront
of even more people and a group of highly ranked judges. Showtime
will be announced so stay tuned! Thanks friends!

Hey Everyone....We hope everything is rockin for everyone and friends
are doing as well as we are. Now that Mike is home from the tropics,
Joe is a graduate of insurance, Justin is still a homowner, and David
continues being part of four. . . . . teen bands, we are happy to
annouce some really cool shows this week that you should come and
check out.
On Thursday, March 23rd, we will be at O'Gara's Garage (www.ogaras.com)
in St. Paul competing in the American Band contest. We will be playing
from 8 pm - 9 pm and need everyone to come out and vote for HALF ACT!
The first 20 people to come up to us will recieve a free CD and stickers!
Cover is $4 at the door and should be a good place to see us.
On Friday, March 24th, we will be making our acoustic debew at CJ's
Coffee and Wine Bar (www.cjscoffeeandwine.com) in Chanhassen. This
will be our first time here and look forward to a nice laid back couple
hours of music starting at 8 pm.
Hope everyone can make it out to see us this week. Bring a friend
